Today (2/22) in 1980: Shaker did not play. However, winless Bishop Maginn beat Bethlehem tonight, 66-63, in the play-in game. From the Times Union, under the headline "Gibbons first victim form mighty Shaker.":
After finishing 0-20 during the regular season, Bishop Gibbons High won its first game of the Section 2 tournament, nipping Bethlehem (1-19), 66-63, last night.

And what was Gibbons reward for its first victory? The dubious honor of being Shaker's first opponent- and by all logic its first victim.
So the Bisons' next game is the first round of sectionals, 2/26/1980, against Bishop Gibbons. Click here for the 1980 Class AA bracket.
