Sectional Preview, part IA

Sectional Preview, Part I-A: The sectional preview continues in earnest tomorrow. But I found this great quote today that I thought I'd share. It sums of the nature of sectionals perfectly. After Shaker won the sectional title in '78-79 by beating CCHS in overtime after being down 54-46 with 3:40 to go (and no shot clock or 3-point line), reporters asked Sam Perkins about his mindset during Shaker's furious rally. Here's what he said, from the Times Union:
"It was a case of either winning or going to the movies on Monday," Perkins said with a smile. "And we're not much in the mood for the movies right now."
Twenty-seven years later, one thing hasn't changed. Starting Wednesday night, it's either win or go to the movies on Monday. And no one is the mood for the movies right now.
