Girmindl's Ghost

A diary of Shaker High School's 2005-2006 basketball season, a retelling of Shaker's fabled 1979-1980 season, and general commentary on high school hoops, updated daily...

"I like sitting in the back row. I found that sitting against the wall is just easier on your back." -Dean Smith, on the comfort of the H-gym bleachers

Saratoga preview...

Tonight at Saratoga: Short post today, because I'll be spending my usual blogging time interviewing Shaker juniors Matt Bodgan and Ryan Dare. I think I'm also being interviewed later by some amatuer reporter who wants to write a story about Girmindl's Ghost. Imagine that!

Anyway, I'm going to the game tonight with SJC and a buddy of mine who lives up in Saratoga. On paper, this is a solid blowout for the Bison: Saratoga is 0-5 in the suburaban and 1-7 overall, their only win coming against 2-8 Bishop Gibbons. I am, however, very interested in seeing 6'4" Jordan Stevens play. He's Saratoga's leading scorer (full team scoring stats here) and he's only a freshman. The Blue Streaks also get good production from 6'3" senior guard Seth Prickett.

But like I said, looks like a blowout on paper. Shaker is clearly the better team. And my god, it would certainly be nice to have a relaxing 4th quarter tonight. As always, if you go to the game and would like to contribute your recap to Girmindl's Ghost, email them in by tomorrow AM.
